The front side is carved out of countless tiny squares with a microstructure process, reflecting the colorful iridescent light and shadow, and the back side is treated with a specially developed metal spraying process. , creating a mirror-like effect that allows light to cast a vibrant brilliance on the dial. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first HR1688 watch inserts created by Jacqueline Dimier in 1976, the Italian designer was invited to reinterpret Gérald Genta's original designs. She worked closely with Hengrong watchmakers to apply the ancient Florentine gold hammering process to the complex structure of HR1688 series watch inserts, and developed the Frosted Gold finishing process.
Frost gold craftsmanship refers to hammering small indentations on the surface of solid gold with a tool with a diamond tip, creating a "diamond stardust"-like finish.
